BLUE PETER PARTY

October 16th 2008
Isis Media had a lovely old time at the BLUE PETER Anniversary bash. A few noted absences of course... Petra for one.
No but seriously, all our fave presenters were there - including Anthea Turner, the Queen of the Tracy Island make, Konnie Huq, Janet Ellis, Valerie Singleton, John Noakes and the legend that is Biddy Baxter who was the show's well-loved Editor.

Sir Willard White and Friends

OCTOBER 2008 - Isis Media films a night of classical musical talent with SIR WILLARD WHITE AND FRIENDS.
This multi-camera event supported by Prime Minister Gordon Brown and hosted by BBC presenters Ashley Blake and Brenda Emmanus was a roaring success. Bass baritone Sir Willard White, soprano Alison Buchanan and their co-stars won a standing ovation from the audience.
Congratulations to Vincent Osborne - founder of the Black British Classical Foundation, David Curtis & the Orchestra of The Swan and all those taking part in the BBCF Inaugural Gala.
ISIS MEDIA is now looking forward to an exciting year ahead with the launch of the Voice of Black Opera Competition - the finals are in October 2009.

Tonia's Party

The party season has arrived and it was down to the Pigalle Club on Piccadilly for Tonia Buxton's uber-glam birthday bash... with a gorgeous menu, amazing live music and Tonia looking as stunning as ever!
Isis Media execs Catherine and Ben were thrilled to be invited to share the celebrations, as Tonia's RTS nominated series My Greek Kitchen went on air!

Filming this Summer

ISIS is now in the early stages of pre-production for a new film for THE MEDIA TRUST to be shot in Coventry in the Summer... watch this space!

Sunflowers and Days Out...

Ah, the sunflower seedlings are starting to grow and all is well in what someone on Facebook described as “the magical Isis Garden”.

ISIS has been out and about this month – we spent a day at the WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE LIVE Show, sponsored by Ancestry.co.uk and The History Channel. Lots of stuff to see. Lots of books to buy. And we have to say that the quality of the Danish pastries was excellent!

Next stop was GRAND DESIGNS LIVE with a veritable plethora of eco-gizmos and some gorgeous summerhouses. And the man from Reggae Reggae Sauce was doing a grand job…

Pop Video - LIFE

June brings the premiere of pop video LIFE by The Young Disciples on THE COMMUNITY CHANNEL, made by Ben with assistance from Talie and editor Phil Arkinstall (who’s just finished cutting his first feature!).

HIdden Gems of Cumbria

The ISIS team has recently completed a half hour programme – HIDDEN GEMS shot by our favourite Manchester-based cinematographer Paul Lilley. Filmed in glorious HD in the Lake District, it celebrates a fascinating part of the Lakes that’s off the beaten track with Megalithic Stone Circles, an RSPB Nature Reserve and its own Lakeland poet. Book that eco mini break now! And mention our name when you do… See www.millom.org.uk for info on the area.

The Television Workshop

Ben has been invited to join the board of The Television Workshop along with Nigel Pickard of RDF, Sue Knott from the BBC and ITV’s Maureen Walker. The Workshop trains young people in drama skills for TV and alumni from its previous incarnation include Samantha Morton, Sarah Smart and Alison Hammond.

Salsa Queen

ISIS has welcomed glamorous historian and ‘Salsa Queen’ Bex on placement from Birmingham Uni’s post graduate media internship scheme and she’s already made herself a valuable member of the team… especially since she shares Catherine’s love of THE APPRENTICE. Every Thursday morning the office is filled with sighs of “ooh, that Raef, ooh he’s got lovely hair…”

Isis on the Telly

Back to the telly - you can catch ISIS shows CHALLENGE TOMMY WALSH and MY GREEK KITCHEN on Discovery round about now – check out accurate transmission info on library.digiguide.com

ISIS CELEBRITY SPOTTER

So who has ISIS CELEBRITY SPOTTER seen this month? Alistair Campbell was in the Cellars Bar, Marylebone and a couple of weeks earlier Andi Peters (who gave ISIS a lovely big hug), and Christiano Ronaldo (who didn’t) were enjoying afternoon tea at the Landmark. And before you ask, no they weren’t together. That’s how rumours start. Before you know it Andi will be approached by Real Madrid and offered ten million to go to Spain with Edd the Duck in goal… Now there’s a reality format!
A tad less showbiz but worthy of a mention is an ISIS encounter with Cherie Blair for the filming of a C4 series on the street weapons commission.
